What is a mudshark?

A mudshark is a type of fish that belongs to the ray family. They are typically found in muddy or sandy coastal waters and can be found in both fresh and saltwater environments. Mudsharks are bottom-dwelling fish and are known for their flattened bodies and elongated tails which help them to navigate along the ocean floor. They are also known for their large, sharp teeth which they use to feed on small fish, crustaceans, and other marine organisms. Mudsharks are not typically targeted by commercial fisherman but are sometimes caught as bycatch in trawl and bottom gillnet fisheries.
